The conference was held at the Domus Pacis Hotel in Assisi Italy.  It was a quick 5 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. The accommodations were very comfortable and is located in a scenic and and quiet part of town.

The cost of the entire conference was surprisingly low.  BIll Collis did an excellent in job in arranging this conference.  The goal was to make it all inclusive so you didn't have to split up and forage for food or return to your hotel.  Everyone slept and ate in the same place as the conference.  It was extremely convenient and provided easy opportunities for people to interact.  I met and talked with many people at this conference, many of them the folks that have been at this for 30 years.

For 800€ individual or 1450 you received the following:

• Hotel room for 5 nights.
• Conference entry for the full week.
• Continental breakfast, buffet lunch and a served dinner every day.
• Coffee and snacks twice daily.
• Bus trip and tour of the Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi.
• Beer, wine and appetizers the first night and a wine social every evening.
• Closing banquet outside on the back lawn.
• Hotel personnel discriminately recorded all presentations from a balcony in the back.  You wouldn't even know they were there.  At no time during the presentations were video personnel moving around between the speaker and the audience.

The conference room had one of the best layouts I've seen for a conference.  The seats were big fat plushy auditorium seats with small writing surfaces that pulled out of the arm rest.  It was easy to get in and out without disturbing the speaker.  There were a lot of presentations that were above my mathematical capabilities or were about subjects that didn't interest me.  I like it when I can check in on a speaker and see if the presentation interests me.  If not I leave and go out and speak with others.  Some of the most important talks I've had at conferences have been outside in the break area.
