This is a recurring extra 'neutron' position that has its place in the center or in between the 2 capping deuterium pairs. This is an intermediate construct that leads to the formation of the Lithium nuclet. Adding one more proton to finish the ring as is the case with Sodium results is the next step in the creation of more nuclets that are part of the nucleus.

The extra proton/electron (neutron) does have impact on attributes of the element such as spin and momentum!

The chemical properties do not change since there is no change in the number of connection points nor the number of outer electrons.
